When a brother praised me for having high standards, I was a bit annoyed. I appreciate the intention behind the complement, but I don’t like how this implies that those standards are my own, that I’m simply going above and beyond the call of duty.

A Life of Worship is like Breakfast
A life of worship is like the habit of eating breakfast. Everyone — well, every Christian — knows it’s good for you. But no one does it. How sad.
Qualification of Terms:
“Worship”: not just singspiration but worship as a lifestyle of choice (not emotion).
